Experience and Qualifications

I'm currently an 18 year member of the United States Navy, and that's where I gained the core values for First Look Home Inspections. I truly believe in Honor, Courage, and Commitment. They're the same values that keep our nation strong and allow us to bring out the best in ourselves and others. My military career has allowed me to see the world, work on multi-million dollar aircraft and equipment, but most importantly it's given me the opportunity to interact with a diverse community. I know firsthand that we all learn from one another, and I find strength in diversity. How can we possibly further ourselves without knowing the road the person standing beside us has taken? We need to walk a mile in other people's shoes, because if we don't stand together, we'll be standing alone.

I started this business, not to be rich and famous, but to provide a much needed service and to be the contributing factor in helping with a very important decision. I guess you could say that I can't stop taking care of people (another military trait). My background for the past 18 years has been Ordnance (Explosives). Now I bet your wondering what military explosives and home inspections has in common. Well, the common denominator is “you only get one chance to do it right”. The inspection process for ensuring that our nation's fighting men/women have the very best and reliable equipment and ammunition is a critical one. It is overseen by rules, procedures, policies, publications, checklist, and several qualifications and certifications. So my reasoning for becoming a home inspector is to transfer that dedication and attention to detail to ensuring that families have the information they need to make the best decisions based on the situation at hand - whether they're buying, selling, remodeling, or need a warranty inspection. I like to think about inspecting this way: "You never forget how to ride a bike, the skills for riding a bike are there the only thing that has changed is the road. ”

I started my home inspection training with AHIT (American Home Inspector Training) sponsored by the University of Texas at Arlington . From there I started studying and associating with other professional home inspectors. You gain more insight into how you want to perform your own inspection by watching the masters at work. I accumulated traits that I feel are important and apply them to my own inspections to produce quality service. I find myself helping friends and family just further my experience with different people, homes, and needs. I am constantly working towards gaining new credentials, take more than the required hours of continuing education and professional development, and I bring in a strong work ethic, dedication to both you and your property, and commitment to a job well done.

On a personal note, I have a beautiful wife of 11 years and 6 wonderful children. Our household is never without entertainment. I always want the best for my family, and I know you want the same for yours. It's my job to make sure that every inspection with First Look Home Inspection provides you with the best home inspection experience you can have.
